FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Police arrested a 26-year-old Fountain Valley man after they found his wife stabbed to death in their home early Tuesday, authorities said.
Officers went to a house in the 16000 block of Carleton Street about 6:15 a.m., Fountain Valley Police Sgt. Jim Perry said. Residents had called asking for medical help and reporting a person with a knife.
Police found the body of Gechee Chang Storey, 23, and arrested her husband, Thomas Andrew Storey, after they pepper-sprayed him when he wouldn’t show his hands, Perry said. He was arrested on suspicion of homicide and booked into the Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, Perry said.
“We’re not sure what led up to the actual deadly confrontation,” he said. “We don’t appear to have a history of domestic violence.”
The couple’s 1 1/2-year-old son was turned over to relatives who also live at the home, Perry said.
