Najera helped the Saints, who were ranked sixth in the county entering the meet, win the El Modena tournament, topping second-ranked El Modena by 20 1/2 points. Najera won the 112-pound division, winning three matches before handily defeating Montebello Schurr’s Mike Suehiro, 14-3, in the final. Suehiro finished fifth in the state at 103 last season.

* Canyon, senior. Tournament MVP led Comanches to 52-50 victory over El Dorado in the Canyon tournament final.
Sam Nelson/Basketball/Guard
* Estancia, senior. Tournament MVP had 31 points, including four three-pointers, in 66-60 victory over Edison in the Coast Classic final.
Tomas Serna/Soccer/Forward
* Saddleback, senior. Had a goal and an assist in 2-1 victory over Santa Ana in the Trabuco Hills tournament final.
