Atlantic Reorganizes Marketing Department
- Share via
Atlantic Records, which finished first among record labels last year with an 8.1% market share, has restructured its marketing department in an effort to “leave no stone unturned in marketing our artists,” said Ron Shapiro, Atlantic executive vice president and general manager. Shapiro said the increasingly competitive music marketplace and the fragmentation of traditional media such as television and radio prompted the move. Three executives--Karen Colamussi, Vicky Germaise and Steve Davis--have received promotions to newly defined jobs. Colamussi becomes senior vice president/general manager of associated labels and new media; Germaise is senior vice president of marketing, encompassing advertising, merchandising and video production; and Davis is senior vice president of artist development, dealing with touring and retail marketing. All are based in Atlantic’s New York headquarters.
