Munroe Faces No Disciplinary Action

Hart High girls’ basketball Coach Dave Munroe will not be disciplined by school officials for slapping one of his players on the wrist during a game.
Hart Principal Gary Fuller said Tuesday that he has “no intention” of suspending Munroe for slapping the wrist of sophomore guard Christina Sanchez during a game against Newbury Park on Dec. 20.
Munroe, who said the slap was intended for Sanchez’s knee, would like to put the incident behind him.
“It’s a dead issue,” said Munroe, who met with Fuller on Tuesday. “I’ve got to get on with my life.”
Parents of Hart players met with school administrators, including Fuller, for 30 minutes Monday night to discuss the incident, for which Munroe has apologized to Sanchez and her family.
