Controlled Burn Planned in Park

Twenty acres of brush in Wildwood Regional Park will be burned by the Ventura County Fire Department beginning Monday.
Weather permitting, the three-day burn is the first in a series of controlled burns to be conducted through the end of March, said Fire Department spokeswoman Sandi Wells.
She said the burns will protect against wildfires in the park, on the city’s north side, and nearby neighborhoods.
