Dylan Bird, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive end from San Clemente, has committed to Utah, San Clemente Coach Mark McElroy said Monday.
Bird was the South Coast League’s defensive player of the year and a first-team all-county selection last season for the Tritons.

Orange Coast College quarterback Chad Collins has signed to play football at Eastern Kentucky, OCC Coach Bill Workman said.
Teammate Dave Brown, a linebacker, has signed with Emporia (Kan.) State, and offensive lineman Don Douglass has selected Tulsa.
Collins (6-2, 200), from Trabuco Hills High, was an All-Mission Central performer last year, when he threw for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns with eight interceptions.

Servite boys’ volleyball Coach Mike Tomlinson has resigned, Athletic Directory Larry Walker said. Tomlinson has relocated to Phoenix for personal reasons, Walker said.
