Conference to Focus on Business Capital

State Treasurer Matt Fong will discuss economic trends affecting small business Saturday at a downtown Los Angeles conference on how businesses owned by women and minorities can find capital to grow.
Also speaking at the event, sponsored by Minorities in Business magazine, will be Anthony Reese, associate director of the Greenlining Institute, a community-based nonprofit group involved in lending issues. The speeches will be part of a day that will include workshops touching on issues such as cash management, retirement planning and financial planning.
The event is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 711 S. Hope St. Cost is $40 per person, $65 per couple; breakfast and lunch will be provided. For information, call (213) 933-0945.
