IRVINE — Junior welterweight Mark Lewis of Mira Loma will attempt to get his once-promising boxing career back on track tonight against Joani Cervantes of Bell in the Marriott’s 10-round main event.
Lewis fought Cervantes to a technical draw two months ago in Northern California. The bout was stopped in the fourth round when Cervantes developed a cut stemming from an accidental head butt.
Lewis (16-3-1, 13 knockouts) was a hot commodity when he fought Hector Lopez for the North American Boxing Organization title last November. But Lewis was roughed up against Lopez and lost a one-sided, 12-round decision. The four-bout undercard begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and $35.
