Three food servers in Oxnard have been cited for serving alcohol to minors after police sent teenagers to eight restaurants in a decoy operation last week, police said.
Lanai Diane Johnson, 30, of Oxnard, a waitress at Coco’s at 150 W. Vineyard Ave.; Colleen Ann Brophy, 23, of Ventura, a waitress at Baker’s Square at 2420 E. Vineyard Ave.; and Tai Shen Alexander, 47, of Ventura, a waitress at China Square Restaurant at 141 W. Gonzales Road, were cited and released on their promises to appear in court.
The two decoys, ages 17 and 19, were working with the Police Department and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control when they visited eight establishments between noon and 6 p.m. on Friday.
Oxnard police officers recently completed several decoy operations in which minors were sent out to purchase liquor at 100 convenience, grocery and liquor stores. Clerks at six of those stores were cited for allegedly selling alcohol to a minor.
