Movie Academy Gives $250,000 in Annual Grants

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has awarded $250,000 in financial grants to benefit 21 college and community film programs across the U.S.
The largest grant--$25,000--went to the American Film Institute for its directing workshop for women.
Other grantees included the California Institute of the Arts, which received $15,000 for its internship program, and USC, which received two grants of $15,000 each for its internship programs, with one grant going to the school of cinema and the other to the master of professional writing program.
