Trio Belongs on KCET

What happened to the great trio of Patt Morrison, Kerman Maddox and Hugh Hewitt on “Life & Times Tonight” on KCET (Morning Report, July 8)? They have been an integral part of the evening segment, preceded by the “NewsHour With Jim Lehrer.”

The continuity in programming is admirable, and the quality of news and commentary unmatched. In contrast to other news and commentary programs, which are raucous, with shouting matches, this team has a perfect balance; they respect each other’s point of view, and present the spectrum of state and local events with a thoroughness and professionalism that is to be commended. They bring to KCET important figures to be interviewed in a crisp and enlightening way that is rare in television today.

Let’s bring them back.
