2 Executive VPs Named Co-Presidents at Fox TV

Dana Walden and Gary Newman have been named co-presidents of Twentieth Century Fox Television, which produces such prime-time hits as “Ally McBeal,” “The X-Files” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” The two executives had been executive vice presidents at the television production arm of Fox Entertainment Group, which owns the Fox broadcast network, TV stations, cable channels, a film studio and the Dodgers.
Walden has a development background, while Newman, formerly the No. 2 executive in the division, comes with business affairs and strategic experience. They succeed Sandy Grushow, who was named chairman of Fox Television Entertainment Group last month.
Fox restructured the television group, combining under Grushow the studio, which he turned into the top producer of prime-time programming, and the Fox Entertainment division, which suffered a setback this fall with a decline in ratings as new shows failed to catch on with viewers.
