Night Closures on Freeway Scheduled

A section of the northbound Ventura Freeway between the Johnson Drive and Victoria Avenue exits will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. on Thursday and Friday mornings to accommodate work on the Victoria Avenue interchange project.
Traffic will be diverted onto surface streets via Johnson Drive and then back onto the Ventura Freeway at Victoria Avenue.
“The bridge has been built so they have to direct traffic off the freeway to do re-striping,” said Bob Stein, a spokesman for the city’s public works department.
The $13-million project, which includes two new bridges, new on- and offramps and widening at Victoria Avenue and Valentine Road, is scheduled for completion in January.
