The city has canceled its millennium celebration on New Year’s Eve due to a lack of ticket sales.
The event, which was planned to entertain 1,000 people, sold only 120 tickets, according to City Manager George Scarborough.
“It seems folks just want a quiet celebration at home with family and friends,” Scarborough said.
