MANASSAS, Va. — A teenage girl accused of fatally beating a young mother over a traffic dispute was convicted of second-degree murder Tuesday.
Kurebia Maria Hampton, 17, faces a maximum sentence of 40 years.
Hampton stood quietly while the verdict was read, then sat down and put her hands to her face. She will be held at a juvenile detention center until Judge Herman Whisenant sentences her on Feb. 10.
Prosecutors said Hampton repeatedly slammed the head of Natalie Giles Davis, 24, into the sidewalk.
