Pepperdine 99, Louisiana Lafayette 53--David Lalazarian tied a career high with 19 points to help the Waves advance to the finals of the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico.
Pepperdine (8-2) will meet No. 7 Auburn for the title tonight. Auburn (9-1) advanced with a 73-63 victory over Virginia Tech.
The Waves took control right away against Louisiana-Lafayette with full-court pressure that had the Ragin Cajuns (6-4) on their heels, and took a 52-27 halftime lead.
Craig Lewis had 18 points for Pepperdine, which is off to its best start since the 1985-86 team began 12-2.
