After the lights and baubles come off the trees, the city’s refuse collection crews will be ready to pick up the pieces.
David Niederhaus, general services director, said crews will pick up the trees for recycling along with refuse on regularly scheduled days.
To make the recycling process easier, residents are asked to cut trees into pieces no longer than 4 feet, tie branches in bundles with string and place them on top of their trash bins.
