Adult Literacy Volunteers Sought

The Ventura County library system’s adult literacy program is seeking volunteer tutors countywide to help adults with reading.
Training is being offered throughout January and February. The two three-hour training classes required of tutors are free, as are training materials.
Tutors must commit to one hour of instruction twice a week.
Training sessions will be held in Ventura on Jan. 13 and Feb. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Jan. 20 and Feb. 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. Training also will be available in Camarillo on Jan. 25 and Feb. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m., and in Simi Valley on Jan. 10 and Jan. 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Jan. 18 and Feb. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m.
