The City Council this week approved turning the Zoeter Hockey Rink into a skateboard and in-line skating park. The rink has been used less frequently in recent years, while demand for skateboarding and in-line skating facilities has grown, said Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director Nancy Beard. The park will initially be open 3 to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends. It is expected to open by early April.
