The city has completed its beach sand replenishment program, importing a total of 90,000 tons of sand from a riverbed outside Palmdale to the city’s East Beach. The project was funded by a grant from the California Department of Boating and Waterways. The beach will receive periodic replenishment and continued management to protect the sand during winter storms.
