Sting Outlasts the Liberty

Dawn Staley scored six points in overtime and Rhonda Mapp had 18 points and 18 rebounds Monday night to lead the Charlotte Sting to a 75-69 victory over the Liberty before 14,778 at New York.
Charlotte (10-10) outscored New York, 11-5, in overtime as the Liberty (10-9) missed their first eight shots.
Utah 73, Washington 61--Natalie Williams, despite not playing part of the game because of a foot injury, scored 23 points to lead the Starzz (7-12) past the Mystics (6-15) before 10,054 at Salt Lake City.
Williams sat out the last 3:22 of the first half and the first 5:53 of the second.
