GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

* Calex Engineering Co. in Newhall has received a contract for $1.1 million from Ventura County to remove debris from Calleguas Creek north of Pacific Coast Highway and the Point Mugu Naval Air Weapons Station. The contract calls for the disposal of 297,000 cubic yards of storm-deposited debris. Work is scheduled for completion May 18.

Timothy J. Ferrie of Ojai has received a contract for $53,071 from Ventura County to install additional kitchen utility lines at the Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura. The project calls for an extension of existing steam, sewer and gas lines, and the installation of a back-flow device for a fire sprinkler system in a temporary kitchen trailer complex.
The project is expected to be completed this month.
