Ray Bourque, one game shy of the record for most games played as a Boston Bruin, scored the game winner and assisted on the only other goal as the Bruins beat the Florida Panthers, 2-0, Tuesday night at Boston.
It was Bourque’s 1,435th game.
San Jose 4, Phoenix 2--Bryan Marchment, Owen Nolan and Mike Ricci scored third-period goals and Steve Shields had a quiet night in net, facing only 15 shots, as the Sharks beat the slumping Coyotes at San Jose.
Colorado 3, Washington 2--Defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh scored 19 seconds into overtime to give the Avalanche a victory at Washington.
Calgary 7, St. Louis 4--Rene Corbet scored twice as the Flames overcame a two-goal deficit to win at St. Louis.
New York Islanders 2, Philadelphia 2--Tommy Salo stopped 33 shots as the Islanders tied the struggling Flyers at Uniondale, N.Y. The Flyers are winless in their last eight games.
Toronto 6, Tampa Bay 1--Sergei Berezin made his 200th NHL game a memorable one with two goals as the Maple Leafs beat the Lightning at Toronto.
New Jersey 3, Pittsburgh 2--Peter Sykora scored one goal and set up another as the Devils scored three times late in the first period and beat the Penguins at Pittsburgh.
