Gore Makes Light of Internet Claim

With a few inventive one-liners, Vice President Al Gore ended an 11-day silence about his much-ridiculed claim that he invented the Internet. Gore offered an excuse for a possible slip of the tongue: “I was pretty tired when I made that comment because I had been up very late the night before inventing the camcorder,” he told the Democratic National Committee.
