Goals Record Wasn’t ‘Something Special’
After reading about the Burroughs-Burbank water polo game, where Jason Falitz set a state single-game scoring record of 26 goals, I am appalled that such a blatant violation of sportsmanship could be defined as “something really special,” by the Burroughs coach.
What makes a team special are the athletes as a whole, not an individual player. It insults every student-athlete who works hard at practice every day for someone to be handed a CIF record and call that “special.”
This shows poor sportsmanship, lack of respect and poor judgment.
