Santa Margarita Beats Villa Park in Golf

Brenda Progar shot eight-over 44 and Megan Mulhapt had a 45 to lead Santa Margarita to a 138-142 victory over Villa Park in a nonleague girls’ golf match Monday at Green River’s Orange Course.
Priscilla Park shot 45 to lead Villa Park (1-1).
In other nonleague girls’ golf:
Esperanza 147, Long Beach Millikan 163--Kayley Parrett shot 10-over 46 and Lyndsay Holst shot 47 for Esperanza (1-0) at El Dorado.
University 123, Edison 170--Medalist Angela Won shot three-over-par 39 for host University at Rancho San Joaquin.
In nonleague girls’ tennis:
Brea Olinda 11, El Toro 7--Seniors Kelly Scanlan and Annie James led Brea Olinda (2-0) in singles over host El Toro (1-1). Scanlan won, 6-3, 6-1, 6-1, and James won, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.
Dana Hills 18, Irvine 0--Senior Kate Romm swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for visiting Dana Hills (3-0).
Garden Grove 12, Edison 6--Le Phan swept in singles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4, and Hong Huynh swept, 6-0, 6-1, 6-3, for visiting Garden Grove.
Katella 19, Anaheim 2--Joanna Kahn won, 6-0, in singles for host Katella (1-2). Kahn and Jeanine Degadillo swept in doubles, 6-0, 6-0.
Santa Ana 13, Santa Ana Valley 5--Karina Zaragoza swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for Santa Ana (2-1).
Woodbridge 13, University 5--Andriana Hockicko won, 6-1, 7-5, 6-1, in singles for host Woodbridge (1-1). Susanna Lingman and Heather Hustedt swept in doubles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 for the Warriors.
In the Cerritos Gahr girls’ volleyball tournament:
Los Alamitos 3, Troy 0--Sarah Kroneberger had six kills for Los Alamitos (3-1), which won a consolation match, 15-5, 15-10, 15-12.
In nonleague girls’ volleyball:
Costa Mesa 3, Savanna 0--Daylyn Kelly had eight kills for host Costa Mesa (1-0) in a 15-3, 15-0, 15-2 victory.
Fullerton 3, Katella 1--Lauren Duggins had 16 kills for visiting Fullerton (1-0), which won, 15-11, 6-15, 15-12, 15-10.
Rancho Alamitos 3, Magnolia 1--Host Rancho Alamitos (2-0) won, 15-17, 15-11, 15-7, 15-6. Stacie Bradley had eight kills for Rancho Alamitos.
Whittier Christian 3, Bolsa Grande 0--Reylynn Wright had 10 kills and Melissa Carlisle had seven kills, three blocks and 10 aces for Whittier Christian (2-0), which won, 15-5, 15-1, 15-8.
In nonleague boys’ water polo:
Buena Park 8, Saddleback 5--Robby Hegel led host Buena Park (1-0) with four goals against 10th-ranked Saddleback (0-1). Goalie Ethan Jessup had 14 saves for the Coyotes. Jorge Ordaz and Julian Gonzales each scored two goals for Saddleback (0-1).
Servite 14, Corona del Mar 5--Michael Kim scored five goals and Dane Jensen had three for visiting Servite (1-0).
