High Rents

Re “How Do We Bridge the Housing Gap?” Opinion, Sept. 12:
If workers can’t afford to live in the L.A. area, then there will be a labor shortage. This will cause wages to rise. Higher wages will make it possible for workers to spend more on housing. Supply and demand will correct any imbalances if given a chance to work. Taxpayers should not be called upon to subsidize rents so that employers have a cheap pool of labor!
