BURBANK — Officers responding to reports of a robbery Tuesday night discovered a man shot to death inside a pet store, police said.
The man, whose identity was not immediately available, was found inside the Pets R Us store in the 400 block of North Victory Boulevard, said Burbank Police Lt. Janis Lowers.
Police received a call shortly after 7 p.m. about a possible robbery in progress and shots fired, Lowers said.
Detectives were piecing together details of the incident with the help of Armenian translators, she said. No other information about the shooting, a motive or possible suspects was immediately available.
“We are in the very early stages of this investigation,” Police Chief David Newsham said.
