Putnam Investments reopened three equity mutual funds Tuesday, saying last week’s stock rout offered buying opportunities for long-term investors. Reopened were the $31-billion Putnam New Opportunities Fund, the $2.1-billion Putnam Capital Appreciation Fund and the $1.2-billion Putnam New Century Growth Fund.
