To benefit area youth, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department football team will play a community team from Kern County, the Bakersfield Blast, at a game in Camarillo.
The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 13 at Camarillo High School, 4660 Mission Oaks Blvd.
Proceeds from tickets and advertising sales will be donated to the El Rio Police Activities League.
“Every year we pick a charity that helps youth, like the Boys & Girls Club, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Police Activities League, and donate the money to them,” Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Duffner said.
Last year, about $2,000 was raised for Oxnard’s Police Activities League.
Tickets are $5 at the gate. For more information, call Duffner at 654-2304.
