YORBA LINDA

The city’s Public Works Department has announced the completion of $85,000 in repairs to the Via Lomas de Yorba East bridge. The city has also completed maintenance of five other bridges for about $50,000.
The city had already spent $100,000 fixing the Via Lomas De Yorba West bridge and is now locked in a lawsuit with the Yorba Linda Water District over who should cover that cost. Yorba Linda sued the water district in January, saying that a leaking water line damaged the bridge north of La Palma Avenue between Coal Canyon and Weir Canyon roads. Water district officials maintain that the bridge needed structural repair even before the water line broke. Both sides are working toward a settlement.
