* Re “U.S. Judges Lift Ban on Filling Wetlands,” Aug. 22:
The destruction of the last coastal wetlands in Los Angeles isn’t just a shame, it is a crime against nature and the inhabitants of Los Angeles. However, if the destruction of the wetlands doesn’t bother you, this fact might: The people who are going to be living in the 13,000 homes at Playa Vista, along with those who will be working in the 5 million square feet of commercial office space there, are going to turn the 405 Freeway into the world’s largest parking lot.
