OXNARD — Two masked gunmen tied up several employees and stole $4,000 in cash during an early morning robbery at Office Depot, police said.
The robbers followed three employees and a manager through a back door when they arrived at 4 a.m., Police Sgt. Marty Meyer said. The attackers ordered them to the floor at gunpoint and bound their hands behind their backs with tape.
After forcing the manager to open the safe, the robbers fled. No one was injured and the victims didn’t see a getaway car.
“I would think an inside job is always a consideration,” Meyer said of the possibility the robbers either were former employees or were guided.
One gunman wore what police described as a “scary movie mask,” and the other covered his face with a blue bandanna.
