The University of California’s Puente Project, a program designed to encourage Mexican Americans and Latinos to pursue higher education, will hold a luncheon to recruit volunteer mentors Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Katella High School, 2200 Wagner St.
The luncheon will be hosted by state Sen. Joe Dunn (D-Santa Ana) and Assemblyman Lou Correa (D-Anaheim). Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove) is expected to attend.
