The Arts Commission has finalized a draft of a policy for selecting art donations to the city.
The policy is intended to ensure that the city accepts only appropriate gifts, according to the draft. The commission approved the policy at its meeting Monday.
Donors will be required to submit an application six months before giving a gift so the committee has sufficient time to review the work’s artistic quality, the artist’s professional credentials, installation costs, maintenance requirements, safety hazards and vandalism potential.
