SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

Changes made in Capistrano Unified’s open enrollment policy earlier this year could make it easier for high school students to remain at their “home” campus if their family moves from the neighborhood.
A new guideline grants priority for those limited high school spaces to students who have been at a school for at least a year, according to district reports.
Students often choose to stay at a familiar campus with their friends, and where they have earned sports eligibility.
Applying for the program requires proof of residency in the district.
