Grant’s Season Can Be Measured by Numbers

For Grant High’s girls basketball team, it was a season for the history and record books.
The Lancers (20-7) advanced to the playoffs’ quarterfinals--the farthest Grant has ever been while competing in the City Championship bracket--before losing to Narbonne.
Grant also won the Sunset Six League title with a 10-0 record.
“We hit a lot of the goals that we had set for ourselves this year,” Coach Steve Brumwell said.
“This team, I think, has proved itself to be the best team we’ve ever had.”
The team recorded its best three-point shooting percentage by making 142 of 361 shots (39.3%). The Lancers’ previous best was 36.2% last season.
Senior guard Leslie Mui, who became the school’s all-time leading scorer during the season, set a single-season assist record with 125. She bettered her record of 103 set in 1997-98.
