BOYS’ BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS / DIVISION II-A

Ocean View (29-2) vs. Lakewood Artesia (28-2)
12:30 TODAY ARROWHEAD POND
Ocean View has been a team of streaks, and the Seahawks may need a hot streak from start to finish to win this one. Artesia is bigger and more athletic--but then again, so was Lakewood Mayfair, Ocean View’s opponent in the semifinals, and the Seahawks defeated the Monsoons, 71-56. The big roadblock Ocean View faces against Artesia comes in the middle, where the Seahawks won’t be able to match up with 6-foot-9 forward Amaury Fernandez and 6-8 forward Jack Martinez. Both average double figures in points and rebounds. Ocean View’s strength is its guards. Shooting guard Marques Crane, swingman Torin Beeler and point guard Ryan Westbrook must facilitate good ball movement and eliminate turnovers for the Seahawks to win their first championship in this division.
