UNCONTESTED RACES

Many candidates for Congress and the state Assembly and Senate are running unopposed, meaning they will automatically appear on the November ballot. The uncontested races:
* 39th District--Rep. Edward R. Royce (R-Fullerton) will face the following candidates in the fall: Business owner Gill G. Kanel, Democrat; engineer Keith D. Gann, Libertarian; and teacher and researcher Ron Jevning, Natural Law Party.
STATE ASSEMBLY
* 68th District--Assemblyman Ken Maddox (R-Garden Grove) is being challenged by businessman and teacher Al Snook, Reform Party; attorney and businesswoman Tina Louise Laine, Democrat; and author and businessman Richard G. Newhouse, Libertarian.
* 69th District--Assemblyman Lou Correa (D-Anaheim) is being challenged by optometry student Brian Tuan Pham, Natural Law Party; and retired Anaheim Police Officer Lou Lopez, Republican.
* 70th District--The open seat is up for grabs by one of the following candidates: businessman John Campbell, Republican; aerospace test technician Bob Vondruska, Libertarian; management consultant Barry L. Katz, Natural Law Party; attorney Merritt Lori McKeon, Democrat; and transportation facilitator Raymond O. Mills, Reform Party.
* 73rd District--Assemblywoman Patricia C. Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) is being challenged by nutrition consultant Paul Fisher, Natural Law Party; small-business owner Paul King, Libertarian; and park technician Robert D. Wilberg, Democrat.
