Villa Park Rallies Past Diamond Bar

Villa Park scored three runs in the final two innings to defeat Diamond Bar, 4-3, in the second round of the Loara baseball tournament Saturday.
Erik Averill’s two-run homer in the top of the sixth tied the score, 3-3, and Junior Quintana scored the go-ahead run after a bases-loaded walk in the seventh.
Dan Reid (1-0) gave up four hits and struck out five for the Spartans (2-0), ranked second in the Southern Section Division III preseason poll.
