Stone’s Second-Half Goal Lifts Pasadena Poly Over St. Margaret’s

Freshman midfielder Evan Stone scored in the 69th minute to help Pasadena Poly defeat St. Margaret’s, 2-1, in the Division V boys’ soccer final at La Mirada High Saturday.
It was the first title for the Panthers (22-5), who were the top seed in the division.
St. Margaret’s (22-4-1), which was also bidding for its first title, took an early lead when midfielder Jeremiah Gallegos scored in the ninth minute.
The goal marked the first time the Panthers had allowed a goal in the playoffs. They outscored their first three opponents, 13-0.
Tefferi Brook scored in the 31st minute to tie it, 1-1, for Pasadena Poly.
