Two men’s and two women’s teams from the region are participating in the junior college basketball state championships Thursday through Saturday in Stockton.
In the men’s quarterfinals Thursday at University of the Pacific, Valley (26-8) meets Fresno (30-3) at 2 p.m. and Moorpark (26-7) faces San Joaquin Delta (30-4) at 6 p.m.
The semifinals are Friday and the final is Saturday night.
In the women’s quarterfinals Thursday at San Joaquin Delta, Ventura (35-0) meets Solano (24-12) at 6 p.m. and Canyons (25-6) plays Shasta (31-3) at 8 p.m.
The semifinals are Friday at San Joaquin Delta and the final is Saturday at Pacific.
Ventura is ranked No. 1 in the state.
The men’s and women’s tournaments each feature four teams from Northern and Southern California.
