An Anaheim man was killed early Sunday when his station wagon hit the center divider on the northbound Santa Ana Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver, Richard Garrett, 28, was driving a 1997 Volkswagen at an unknown speed when he failed to negotiate a right curve north of The City Drive in Orange, a CHP dispatcher said.
“He continued to drive in a straight line and hit the cement shoulder,” the dispatcher said.
Garrett was wearing a seat belt. The exact time of the crash is unknown because no witnesses have come forward, but the CHP received a call at 6:57 a.m. The crash is under investigation.
