“I just had the 1997 Wild Hog Vineyards Zinfandel ‘Porter Bass.’ It had all the intensity and fruit and a little of the rough edge of a Zinfandel and some spice with a little bit of bramble in it.... Two of us were out to dinner, and I had it with sun-dried tomato pesto and goat cheese pa^te, and my friend had it with duck. It would go really well with smoky, gamy foods.”
