Newbury Park Hangs On, 2-1

Katie Stokx had a no-hitter through six innings and Amber Mastrioanni had a run-scoring double as Newbury Park High defeated Moorpark, 2-1, in a Marmonte League game Tuesday at Borchard Park.
Newbury Park (8-1, 2-1 in league) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Mastrioanni had two doubles.
Michelle Willette led off the seventh with a triple for Moorpark (3-4, 0-2) and scored on an infield out.
Agoura 3, Royal 2--Kim Refkin singled in Jesse DePippo with two outs in the seventh inning for the Chargers (6-4, 1-1) in a Marmonte League game at Agoura.
Camarillo 3, Rio Mesa 0--Nicki Sutton had a two-run double in the third inning for the Scorpions in a Pacific View League game at Camarillo.
Cathrine Sutton pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts for Camarillo (7-2, 3-0).
Valencia 3, Quartz Hill 0--Lauren Watson had a run-scoring double in a two-run third inning for host Valencia in a nonleague game. Meredith Garcia had a run-scoring single in the second for the Vikings (6-2).
Verdugo Hills 3, Monroe 2--Danielle Burch had a two-out single in the bottom of the fifth to break a 2-2 tie in a nonleague game.
Burch, who had three hits, also had a two-out, run-scoring single in the first that cut the deficit to 2-1 for Verdugo Hills (4-3-1).
San Fernando 3, Cleveland 2--Sophomore Nancy Esqueda had two singles, drove in one run and scored once for the Tigers (9-2) in a nonleague game at San Fernando.
Sylmar 7, North Hollywood 0--Casondra Acosta fired a three-hitter and struck out eight, and Krystal Mejia hit a grand slam in the Spartans’ nonleague victory at Sylmar.
Acosta and Karen Regalado each had a double, single and run batted in for the Spartans (6-4).
Kennedy 4, Banning 0--Kristin Cookson had three hits and two RBIs for Kennedy (8-3) in a nonleague game at Banning.
Monique Acedo and Briana Mathiesen each doubled twice for Kennedy (8-3), and each drove in one run.
Louisville 2, Paraclete 1--Sami Hill singled and scored on a throwing error in the eighth inning, and Jennifer Valenzuela (4-2) pitched a six-hitter for the Royals (4-4) in a nonleague game at Jane Reynolds Park in Lancaster.
Sara Gonzales pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Spirits (4-3).
