Developers of the 250-home Canyon Crest housing project won only polite criticism after introducing major cutbacks of about 200 homes in their plans for the new community.
The development would bring about 500 vehicles to the already overused Carbon Canyon Road, which recently received an “F” rating from the city for the 10th year in a row. An estimated 1,600 vehicles per hour travel down Carbon Canyon Road during rush hour. The two-lane rural highway was designed to accommodate a few hundred per hour.
