Associated Press

Kenny Inge scored 17 points and Damien Wilkins added 16 Thursday night as North Carolina State advanced to the semifinals of the National Invitation Tournament with a 77-54 victory over Mississippi.

North Carolina State (20-12), in its fourth consecutive NIT, reached the semifinals for the first time since 1978, when the Wolfpack lost to Texas in the championship game.

The Wolfpack will play the winner of tonight’s California-Wake Forest game.

The Wolfpack went ahead 3-2 on Anthony Grundy’s three-point basket a minute into the game and never relinquished the lead.
