A Costa Mesa woman accused of drowning three cats pleaded guilty to animal cruelty Friday and was sentenced to a 60-day jail term, according to Orange County district attorney spokeswoman Tori Richards.
Debra Kincaid, 40, was also ordered not to own pets during her three-year probation period and to undergo psychiatric counseling, said Richards.
Authorities said they found the three dead cats in Kincaid’s home last year after neighbors complained of foul smells. One of the cats was being cooked on the kitchen stove after being skinned and cut into pieces, authorities said.
