Mike Willey has resigned as girls’ basketball coach at Savanna High for personal reasons, girls’ athletic director Joanne Tenney said. Willey, who went 35-66 in his four seasons at Savanna, will continue coaching the Rebel softball team.
WATER POLO
Villa Park’s Danee French has signed to play water polo at Cal Baptist, Cal Baptist Coach Rick Rowland announced. French, a two-meter player, was a second-team All-Southern Section pick for the Spartans this season.
LUNCHEON
Tickets are available for the annual Anaheim Chamber of Commerce Angel luncheon Friday at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel.
Manager Mike Scioscia, many of his players and coaches as well as front office personnel will be on hand. The luncheon, which starts at 11 a.m., includes a silent auction, with proceeds going to the Anaheim Achieves After School Program through the YMCA and the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club.
