“Moscow Display on Hitler May End Mystery” (April 28) reports on solid evidence about Hitler’s demise that heretofore was mostly hearsay. While credit to the Russians for their belated disclosure seems justified, let’s not forget the contribution during the Cold War era of Raider Sognnaes, founding dean of UCLA’s School of Dentistry.
Prof. Sognnaes, a forensic dental scientist, interviewed and examined evidence from Hitler’s dental technician, including dental casts of Hitler’s teeth. Moreover, I recall that he discovered crucial X-ray records in a vault in the Washington area that provided proof that Hitler was, in fact, dead.
